This week ...

I have been thinking of words all week long. Posts i could write, words i could say. After the bombings in Boston on Monday and all the media and sadness around it, a lot of the things i wanted to write about seemed trivial.

So today i thought i'd share some of my happy places online, the places i go and visit when i need a little lift ... reminders of people doing amazing things, simple beauty along the way ...

Momastery is a blog i've been reading more and more lately. I love Glennon's honesty, her faith, and her sense of humour. Her new book has just come out. I haven't read it yet but her words are lovely, this post especially was relevant this week. And this one for a beautiful woman who wrote a really powerful piece of writing.

This is a blog that just makes me happy to read it - it's mostly about interiors ... but there's a little more thrown in. Love love.

And this one ... i took a painting course with her a few years ago, when she first started teaching. It opened up a whole new way of working, and in acryllics too, and i'm really happy she's doing 30 days of blogging at the moment, i am enjoying all the updates.

For the writing itself ...

and some travel inspiration and a little mystery ...

And really today there is not much more for me to say except to share some Sunday photos (i know, i've been slacking in that area, that's what happens when i promise to do something, my inner rebel puts down her foot.)

Wishing you a week of sunshine and a little lightness in the air.

Central Park to see family who came to visit with lovely news, and a view on the drive home ...

                                                   ... finished ....

Spring is in the air ....

Today was a day for letting the warm sun soak into the skin
for leaving homework till after dinner and scootering in circles
and jumping sky high on the trampoline.
For buds shooting and green unfurling
and hands playing in water and the soul expanding.

After months and months of a very long cold winter,
i do believe that spring is finally here.

from e.e.cummings because he does say it best - (thank you Dale) ...

when faces called flowers float out of the ground
and breathing is wishing and wishing is having -
but keeping is downward and doubting and never
- it's april (yes, april; my darling) it's spring !
yes the pretty birds frolic as spry as can fly
yes the little fish gambol as glad as can be
(yes the mountains are dancing together)

when every leaf opens without any sound
and wishing is having and having is giving -
but keeping is doting and nothing and nonsense
- alive; we're alive, dear: it's (kiss me now) spring !
now the pretty birds hover so she and so he
now the little fish quiver so you and so i
(now the mountains are dancing, the mountains)

when more than was lost has been found has been found
and having is giving and giving is living -
but keeping is darkness and winter and cringing
- it's spring (all our night becomes day) o, it's spring !
all the pretty birds dive to the heart of the sky
all the little fish climb through the mind of the sea
(all the mountains are dancing; are dancing)

Some inspiration ...

I couldn't resist .... this is beautiful. Sometimes we all need a little inspiration.
I found this on Shutter Sisters today.
